Bory Tucholskie Biosphere Reserve is the biggest one in Poland. It includes the Tuchola Forest National Park, 38 nature reserves and four landscape parks. The Tuchola Forest is one of the most extensive forest areas in Europe. The forests have had a great influence on the culture and way of life of the people living in the area. Siedlisko Milachowo is situated on the territory of Zaborski Landscape Park, which covers an area of almost 27 thousand hectares, with a large area of forests (68%), a big number of lakes, rivers and brooks (14%). A diverse landform, rich water network and a variety of natural habitats contribute to the existence of many rare and endangered species of plants and animals here.
